农林复合生态系统研究组创建于2012年5月，隶属于中国科学院西双版纳热带植物园热带植物资源可持续利用重点实验室。该研究组主要致力于热带、亚热带农林复合生态系统结构、功能的研究及其优化模式的组建。目前主要以大面积单一的橡胶林、茶园为研究对象，进行生物生产力、土壤水分与养分动态、土壤微生物-土壤养分、植物多样性与生物生产力及昆虫群落多样性之间的相互关系等方面的深入研究，并运用相关的生态学原理，构建出经济、生态和社会效益良好的生态胶园和生态有机茶园优化示范模式，旨在为环境友好型生态胶园和生态有机茶园建设提供技术支撑和指导，为提高热带亚热带山地的农业技术水平和促进当地社会经济的可持续发展做出贡献。

The Group of Agroforestry Ecosystem, an affiliated member of the Key laboratory of Tropical Plant Resources and Sustainable Use of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was found in May 2012. The group is mainly engaged in constructing of optimizing agroforestry ecosystems and studying its structure and function in tropical and subtropical regions, China. Our objectives are to provide practical guidance for constructing environment-friendly rubber agroforestry ecosystem and eco-organic tea garden, as well as to improve agricultural technologies and promote sustainable development of social economy in tropical and subtropical mountain regions of China.

The specific research areas are:

i. Constructing the reasonable rubber/tea agroforestry ecosystems via species with different functional types;

ii. Revealing the changes in net productivity and soil properties as well as high yield underlying eco-physiological mechanisms，and the interactions among plant-edaphon -soil nutrients;

iii. Clarifying the relationship between plant diversity and productivity, and the spatial and temporal variations in insect community and species responses to plant composition.

iv. Promoting the optimal rubber/tea agroforestry ecosystems with ecological and socio-economic benefits in the field.
